Fall 2011 Box Tops Contest

This was the best contest ever, amassing 8529 box tops in the first few months of the school year. All classrooms participated, and the Lower School results were very close. The three Lower School classrooms with the highest number of box tops will receive pizza parties. The winners are Ms. Carroll's class (1405 box tops), Ms. Harmon's class (786 box tops), and Ms. Garay's class (606 box tops). When the contest was originally announced in September, we offered a fourth party for the highest per student average not already a winner. This was intended to give the smaller classes a better chance to compete against larger classes. The winner in this category was Ms. Light's class with 51.90 box tops per student. The Middle School competed for a denim/logo day, and the numbers were so good that the winning class will also earn pizza (or a similar treat of their choosing). Congratulations to the victorious sixth graders.

The Upper School had a box tops contest as part of their Spirit Week competition prior to Homecoming. In this very short contest, they collected a total of 771 box tops.

Spring 2011 Box Tops Contest

Lower School classrooms were competing to win a Sundae Party and a denim or no homework day. Congratulations to Ms. Garay's 5th graders for collecting the most box tops this spring. Following close behind were Ms. O'Connell's 1st graders, Ms. Rosnick's 5th graders, Ms. Grabfelders 2nd graders, and Ms. Ducharme-Barth's 3rd graders. We also had a great response to the pencil incentive where individual students earned a free pencil by completing a basketball-themed collection sheet with ten box tops. Special thanks to Ms. Harmon's Kindergarten class for near-perfect participation and to Nellie Brady for being the only student to color her collection sheet (and brighten our day). The totals below include box tops from classroom collection boxes plus individual collection sheets.

When combined with our Fall totals and the Middle School and Upper School submissions, we have collected 11,641 box tops so far this school year. We are only 359 short of our annual goal of 12,000. We'll provide a school-wide treat when we reach our goal, so keep sending them in.

Giant A+ Bonus Bucks

Complete a School Designation form for your Giant Bonus Card either at the store, online at www.giantfood.com/aplus or by picking up a form at one of the PFA information tables. Don't be shy about inviting grandparents and other friends/relatives to participate also. Our school I.D. code is 02821. PLEASE NOTE THAT GIANT REQUIRES US TO RE-DESIGNATE OUR SCHOOL EVERY YEAR! This program runs from October through March and earns over $1,000 per year.

Target Take Charge of Education

Current Target REDCard holders (Target Visa Card, Target Credit Card, or Target Check Card) should go to: www.target.com/tcoe to make sure that F.A. is designated as your reward recipient. Our School ID Number for this program is 771. Don't have a REDCard yet? The website tells you how to enroll (in store or with a downloadable application). FA will receive 1% of all purchases at Target or target.com and 1/2% of purchases made elsewhere with your Target Visa. Last year, we earned $1,724 from this program with only 37 cardholders. This is our most valuable rebate program, so let's maximize our earnings!

AmeriGas School Days Program

This program awards 2 cents to F.A. for every gallon of gas a customers uses (up to $2,000/year). Simply save your receipts, put them in an envelope, write "Rebates" on the front of the envelope and drop it in one of the PFA Forms boxes located by the entrances of the middle or upper schools or by Mrs. Estes' Office in the lowerschool. We are testing this program for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Tyson Project A+

Clip Tyson Project A+ Labels from this list of participating tyson products. Place them in one of the collection boxes located by the entrances to the middle and upper school or by Mrs. Estes' Office in the lower school. F.A. earns 24 cents per label! Box Tops for Education Program

Clip "Box Tops for Education" logos from General Mills, Ziploc & Avery Office products and send them into school with your child anytime. Each box top earns 10 cents for the PFA. We hold a lower school contest and middle school contest for the most box tops collected during the fall each year. There are collection boxes in each lower school classroom and the top three lower school classes win a pizza party (usually on the day of their Valentine's Day Party). There are containers for 6th, 7th and 8th grades located in the common area of the middle school. The middle school grade collecting the most boxtops wins a denim/logo day for the entire class. Lower and Middle School students may also earn a special dessert at the end of the school year if we meet our box tops earnings goal for the year. Upper School students and parents are encouraged to bring box tops into the upper school and place them in the entry collection box as well to earn money for FA! Recycle to Earn with Funding Factory

Recycle cell phones and empty laser or inkjet toner/printer cartridges (not copy machine toner) to help the environment and earn money for our school. One collection box is located outside of Mrs. Estes' lower school office, another is in the main lobby of the middle school and the final collection box is in the entry area of the Upper School. Also, if you or your spouse would like to donate directly from your place of employment, we can provide pre-addressed boxes for you to send directly from your office. F.A. earns over $100 through this program. We know we could earn more this year if you help us advertise this program! Bloom "Shopping is a Breeze" Program

Effective Fall of 2009 Bloom shoppers with an F.A. designation on their Breeze Card will earn points up to $300,000 for F.A. to redeem through an on-line catalog that has thousands of educational items and equipment. Food Lion Shop and Share
